Flowstate
A game about reaching a flow state.
Gameplay
Press any key to jump.
Press down arrow to fast fall! This gets useful when the game gets faster.
If the game gets fast enough the narrator will enter "flow" and less becomes more.
Quote
"A person is in a state of flow when they are totally immersed in a task. When a person is “in flow,” they may not notice time passing, think about why they are doing the task, or judge their efforts. Instead, they remain completely focused."
About
While designing the game I ran into this thing, where the obstacles would phase through the player if the game became fast enough. I thought to get rid of this, but then it started giving me behaviors where it would glitch the player forward and backward, but keep them on the stage.
I decided to keep it since, well, I could get away with the game being abstract, but also because I thought it enabled flow to a certain point where playing the game quite literally felt effortless.
Anyway that's my interpretation. The scoring mechanic was something I debated on but ultimately decided I'd leave to Typewriter.

Simple game but I love the sound design and the animations for the game. Really appreciate how it starts to speed up as time goes on too.
I really love the design of the game! Its really fun to play and the way it gets faster makes it challenging to keep going. Not to mention the whole vibrating screen really added to the experience of the game
I really love the designs and animations you made. It feels very fluid, I especially like how smooth the orientation changes feel when you get bumped and how you have to respond. Playing it without any sound, I noticed how well the *shaking/virbations* happens when you slam down or into one of the obstacles. Very cool game :)
Really good sound design here. The satisfying clicks mixed with the funny bounce sound take me back to games like Crossy Road. Also love the muisc that plays as the speed ramps up, really adds to the tension when the game gets more difficult.
The design and concept of this work so well together! The little additions of having the papers fly out and the sound effect when the filing cabinet jump/land adds soooo much. Also, I know the game's theme is office work but it really feels like how the quarters go in school. The slow progression to no longer being able to keep up with it all, until it's finally over.
Really wonderful project! Love all the details you added, the special camera angle, the shake when the box landed, the floating paper, and the click sounds, all these details create an excellent play experience.
